Our story explores the experience of migration and the quest for belonging. At the heart of our story lies friendship – a mirror that reflects who we are and who we are becoming. In a world defined by constant movement, many of us face the challenge of adapting to new places while holding on to the essence of who we are.

Between the old and the new, we often find ourselves caught in a whirlwind – questioning where our identity truly lies, what parts of ourselves we must leave behind or rediscover, and where we can finally call home. Is it a place, a memory, or something we build within ourselves?

The use of English as a shared yet diverse language becomes a common symbol of all immigrants, regardless of one’s origin, an amalgam of voices from different corners of the world, carrying many accents but sharing one universal story: the courage to begin again, to belong, and to build a new life.

As the movement director, I developed the physical language of the piece to reflect its themes of transition, memory, and belonging. Each gesture was shaped to express the delicate balance between stillness and change — capturing the emotional rhythm of migration.

Through collaborative improvisation, I guided the performers to explore how movement can hold both fragility and strength, allowing the body to speak where words cannot.
